Wexford Mixed Martial Arts About Us

Who We Are And What We Do

WexMMA is a small club based in Wexford Town, Ireland. We train twice a week at St Iberius National School on Davitt road. All are welcome to visit us but having an open mind and a reasonable degree of fitness is a good idea! We train tuesdays at 8.00 and thursdays at 8.30. Please mail us or contact one of us if you are interested in visiting. To contact us go here.

We teach a wide variety of skills. At the core of our training is the idea of stressing the function of fighting rather than the form. To achieve this we focus our training on:

Our classes aim to be diverse and challenging. We begin each class with a sports specific warm-up. Fundamental movements are worked on as the mastering of body movements, as they relate to martial arts, is a key part of our training ethos. Pad work, flow, reactive and situational drills are core to the cirriculum. Classes end with sparring and rolling , conducted in a realistic manner but with safety factors built in.

Wexford Mixed Martial Arts is many things to its members. We are a mixed group of individuals, from all parts of Europe, with a variety of skils and backgrounds. The one thing we have in common is an eagerness and desire to achieve a level of personnel perfection through mixed martial arts. The atmosphere within the club is very good humoured and we prefer to leave ego's outside the front door.

Wexford MMA is open to all but might not suit everyone. An open mind and a hunger to learn are important. If you posses this and a desire to embrace a more realistic cross-training approach to martial arts then Wexford MMA is the home you have been searching for.

We are influenced my the methods taught by the likes of Steve Morris and Bob Breen but we are not claiming to solely teach their methods.
